Hi my name is Martha. I’m a very loving big girl. I have had some terror in my life and often vehicles frighten me. However, I’m really brave and I’m great when you distract me with those food treats and I can manage to get through it. Life with me won’t be easy – but I do deserve a chance.

Dancing dog act Ashleigh and Pudsey have won ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent. Ashleigh Butler, 17, trained her dog to jump and dance for their elaborate routine, which was performed to Lalo Schifrin’s Mission Impossible theme.

Judge Simon Cowell said the pair were one of his “favourite ever acts”.

A peak audience of 14.5 million people tuned in to their win, said ITV. The pair, from Northampton, will perform at the Royal Variety Performance.

Butler cried when presenters Ant and Dec announced her win. She said: “I just want to say thank you to everyone that voted for me, and I’m just so proud of Pudsey.”

Butler hugged her dog and said: “I love you.”
